Fast forward several months later.

The cute girl sent me a direct message,

"Hey Sean, I'm at a seminar and the speaker is talking about you."

Interesting. Flattering. More months passed.

Cute girl messaged me yet again,

"Sean I'm going to be in Chicago visiting my family for Christmas, want to grab coffee?"

My interest was peaked. She was more than a Facebook profile pic, she was reaching out for an offline interaction. Not gonna lie, I was a bit excited to meet her in 3-D. I quickly set the stage that this was more than a passing meet-up. I made it clear it was going to be a date. We ended the date with an awesome series of kisses. When she walked out she did that sexy over-the-shoulder-glance-back. Oh yeah!

Was it love at first sight? NOPE.

Don't get me wrong, we had chemistry. The thing was, she lived in PORTLAND and I lived in CHICAGO. This was not conducive for love, or was it?

She returned to Portland and we stayed in touch for months. We fell in love over texts, IM's, emails, Facebook posts and hours of video Skyping. The little cutie made the leap off my laptop screen and into my heart. We were getting serious, so serious she moved to Chicago. We were inseparable, traveling to several states and countries together having a blast. We survived tough times and intense conversations, each time surfacing stronger as a couple.

A year and a half had passed since our first date when I asked the infinite powers that be for a clear cut sign.

"Is she my one and only?"

It didn't send me one sign, it sent me numerous signs ... and boy were they obvious.

On May 14, 2011 I spoke at a private gathering in a gorgeous mansion in Venice. At this event I asked, "cute girl" to step forward. And, as you'll see in the videos below, I asked her to marry me. Watch what happened next ...

My now fiance, Mindie Kniss has taught me many things, the one thing I wanted to share with you is:

I realize it's been quite some time since my last post and I'm sorry for leaving ya hangin! I've been extremely busy traveling around the world speaking at different events and working on my Phd! It sure has been quite the year.
