Reading is an invaluable asset that helps us shape our thoughts and actions. By reading, we can unlock our true potential at earth-shattering speeds.

When we allow ourselves to be immersed in new ideas and foreign concepts, we expose our minds to a new way of thinking. These new perspectives help us gain a competitive advantage over others - and the best part about it, is reading is virtually free! (other than our time of course )

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” - Dr. Seuss

So read more, grow your imagination and invest in your future. I guarantee you won't regret it.

On that note, here's my list of book recommendations:

Ever wonder how the same bad events keep happening to you or your loved ones repeatedly? These series of negative events don't just happen by sheer coincidence. As easy as it is to blame others, there are in fact specific mental patterns that are the culprit behind all negative events in your life.

These patterns are what I like to call "Victim Behavior". Sounds scary? Well it should! I've recorded a short video for you to demonstrate just exactly what I mean when I refer to victim behavior and how to avoid it.

I want to help you determine if you're a culprit of these negative behaviors and how you can stop yourself from experiencing unnecessary negativity in your life - don't worry, it's far more fun than it sounds!

Click here to view the embedded video.

Just remember... Your mentality creates your reality. Not the other way around. Once you accept responsibility for everything in your life, all the negative people and events literally just drop off. They simply cannot stick to you anymore and you free yourself from those destructive patterns of negativity.

So stop swallowing magnets

Peace,

If you saw my post a few days ago about being able to personally meet and share the stage with the Dalai Lama, you know about the Engage Today 2009 Conference, recently held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I can honestly tell you, this was the event of the DECADE.

There were so many great and inspiring moments at the event, but the powerful video below features some of the best moments and the incredible speakers at the event, including His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama, Dr. Stephen R. Covey, Tony Hsieh, Lynne Twist, Les Brown, Greg Habstritt, Vishen Lakhiani, Carol Cone, F.W. deKlerk, Greg Mooers, Janet Attwood, Wyland, Garrett Gunderson, Eben Pagan, and ME! The video also features the musical theme of Engage Today, written by Paul Hoffman and William Lane.

A dream of mine JUST came true!

While at the Engage Today event in Calgary, Alberta last month, I got to meet the Dalai Lama! It was SO awesome! He is one of the most compassionate and kind souls I have ever met.

Here's the whole story of how we met:

Here's a photo of the Dalai Lama blessing me! It was surreal.

Oh and check this - the Dalai Lama likes my book. hehe.

Man, it sure feels great to cross something else of my bucket list!

Have you crossed anything off yours lately? Share it with me below.

Peace,

This little piece of advice will radically alter your life.

I know, because it changed mine.

Listen to my story below:

Click here to view the embedded video.

Several years ago I was raced to the ER at 3:00am in excruciating pain in my lower back. I was in so much pain that I thought I was dying.

While awaiting the Doctor to come in, I decided to do something that drastically altered the course of my life.

I found a napkin and a pen and wrote down a list of life goals. Now, I should mention that these goals weren't small by any means. They are massive goals. Things I wasn't even sure I could ever do!

I started writing and didn't stop until I made a list of about 32 things I knew I HAD to achieve in my life time.

It was then that I made a promise. I said, "God, if you let me live through this, I promise to complete everything on I wrote on this list."

Luckily, I survived that day and since have completed a number of goals on that list.

I have thrown the first pitch at a Chicago Whitesox game (you can watch that video here), wrote a book (my first book "Get Off Your 'But'" was published earlier this year), scuba-dived, went back- packing through Egypt with my closest friends, went on a date with Natalie Portman (ok, that hasn't happened yet but it will) and this October I have the chance to speak at an event with the Dalai Lama!

Want to know the best part?

I am having the time of my life I know it's no where near over yet!

Now, what I want YOU to do is pull out a piece of paper and a pen and create your own bucket list of all the things you've ever wanted to experience or have in your life. You know you're on the right track when what you write down makes your heart pound with excitement and a little bit of fear.

You don't have to wait until you are in the hospital at 3:00am to do this. Do it right now. Start doing things that make you feel alive, that draw you towards your future.

Show your bucket list to as many people as possible. You never know what opportunities will arise.

Please share your bucket list with me in the comments section below.

I would love to hear from you.

Sean

PS - If you want to learn more about my speaking engagement with the Dalai Lama, go here.
