A Matter of Perspective

Have you ever been frustrated and making a really big deal out of something in your life... and then something happens and everything gets put into perspective?

Most people major in minor things. They make little things into big things.

Frame every so-called disaster with these words ''In five years, will this matter?"

What thing or things are you making into a really big deal that end of the day are trivial, at best?

Love life, ( it's too short not to! :) )

Sean

Thanks for the awakening Sean, gratitude is so vital as we often forget to thank God for the many gifts and graces that we are given each and every day.

Amen Sean, I think everyone can relate to this one. I myself have let the state of the economy be my crutch for why I cannot find success yet all you have to do is look halfway around the world (or closer0 to see that so many have it so much worse. i appreciate your words and look forward to future videos from you. You rock brother !!

I had an experience yesterday that needed that understanding. I spent a lot of money trying to fix a starting problem with the 89 Honda Civic SI I just bought several weeks ago. I thought we finally solved it when we put in a new fuel filter so I drove 27 miles away from my mechanic and I couldn't start the car.

This sad story will be stored back into the recesses of my mind in time but I was very disruptedby this experience. Now it won't start again. I managed to get it home.

    Sean,

This was another great, inspiring video. I really should know better, after constantly being in the hospital about 1-2 years ago. Now, I feel healthier than I have ever been, yet I am starting to make a big deal out of small problems. For one, getting my schoolwork in on time, and feeling stress/pressure to get amazing grades in every class. I am making a big deal, when in reality, I have no problems. Thanks for the perspective, Sean.

Btw, I just noticed that your video/audio quality are even better than before! The videos look excellent! May I ask what camera you are using to record your videos?

    Thank you,
    Josh Lipovetsky.

Hi Sean – I am a first time visitor. I heard your interview with Dr Oz the other day on Oprah’s Radio and was so fascinated by you that I had to find out more about. I love your candor and words of courage. I felt that you were sincere and were speaking from your heart and soul. I could trust what you were saying. Someday I want to be motivational speaker. I am writing my first book and have been working on it for the last 2 years. It is my personal journey of how I battled cancer and dealt with life. I enjoyed watching your video. I made me feel awake and happy again.

Me and you are very fortunate--aren't we? There is always someone that is much worse and we wouldn't trade our situations for someone elses, especially if we could live in their shoes! Ocalla H Harper

I am very grateful for having you as a virtual friend to watch and learn from. Unfortunately my mind detects the smallest pain, but not the pleasure of having no pain (unless I decide to force it to). I am in my 50s but have not had a stroke yet probably because of my diet (RAW foods & vegetables & nuts) and lots of exercise. However the good times won't last forever and one must prepare for rainy days.

I am so grateful to have crossed paths with you Sean. Thank you and bless you for all of the great reminders.

I have an issue with a guy in a community group i work in. He's a past president that take hold on the group, gathering people around him. I'm president this year and each thing I do has either an open comment to all or gathering people around him splitting the group by attracting toward him with his project. I dont know what to make of it... But is it that he's holding to status and title? or am I?

Then this quote from Mike Dooley: "Dare not wish to change even the slightest thing about a loved one, without first understanding how it might change the rest of them."

Then your video on perspective Sean.

Maybe, just maybe... I'm overreacting at him knocking me down getting the worst of me out as a sniper and gossiper. I guess he's my spiritual teacher teaching hooking me.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7qFi52FX1Q&pl...

    Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, I am filled with gratitude for your perspective, it's, as always, very humbling and feels at this moment like a strong clear voice in a large valley. Beautiful, still, strong.

You know what? Just this morning I thought about writing a post about "taking life lightly". You see, I'm far from perfect, but I'm one of the happiest people I know, not because my life is so great, but because I put things in the right perspective.

If you ask me what my problems are, I'd say that I have nothing to complain about...

Sure, there are things I would like to improve, but that's what life's about, in a sense.

I wasn't always this way though, so to answer your question, yes, sure, there was a time in my life that I'd get frustrated and even depressed when things weren't going as well as I wanted.

Well, I've grown since then and in the last few years I focus on being grateful for all the good things in my life and on living in the moment as much as possible, being 'present'.

Thank You Sean for your awesome work. You really inspire me.

    Rotem.

HI Sean - As always, a timely reminder to us all that life aint that bad! Yes, right now I am dealing with some issues, but I CAN deal with them. I still have energy. I have health. I know this is a hiatus in my life, and all that the universe is challenging me to do, is grow and change. Thankyou so much. I really look forward to catching up with you.
