Can you think of a time when your life was really working? When everything seemed to just flow and everything fell into place effortlessly?
Good. Now go back in time to that point and take a look around. What were you doing consistently in your life that you're not doing now? I have a hunch that you had some daily rituals then that you've since been neglecting.
I have an assignment for you. I want you to come up with a "When Life Works" list and write down all of the things you were doing at that point in time that just made your life work.
For example my life works when I workout regularly, get 8 hours of sleep, stay organized, read good books, shower regularly (haha
) and stay hydrated. What works for you?
Everybody's different - so please comment and share your list below. I'd love to hear your WLW's and how this has helped your life.
Peace and Love,
Sean
P.S. Until you actually sit down and make a list, it'll be extremely difficult to discern what works from what doesn't. So what are you waiting for?

I have been watching reading and thinking about what you have to say for a while. so I'm happy to give back in a small way by sharing. I JUST watched the video. but i can think in overdrive some times when properly stimulated.
So here is what I wrote out, and took some of yours as well.
WLW:
I am staying positive
i am celebate
I am eating healthy
I get in touch with my root/core/deep self
exersize (weither that is daily walks to the university or 3/week intense)
I open myself up.
I see my truth, what i want, i go for it
I stay clean
I work a job i love
I listen to myself. my goals.
I feel my emotions STRONGLY!
I feel my purpose and find courage to do the things i feel fearful about that need doing.
-The sun is shining (summer really helps i feel)
I am an embodyment of trust. and trusting the universe and myself.
I am doing what i want to do
when i don't have loads of $ seriously i have felt more in the flow/happy when i didn't have the cash
when i was despirate. in some ways i actually have the courage
when i am able to surpass fears. including fears of others, fears of death, fears of critisism
When i have a fresh haircut. i just feel more energy.
hydrated for sure. more energy
reading books i enjoy/ online movies. laughing
Living on my edge and feeling challenged and pushing myself.
Enough sleep and regular sleeping pattern.
Finally, when i show appreciation.
i know i can find more but that will probably do for today won't it? ;p
Thank you Sean

Wow, amazing. Thank you very much - i’m gonna concentrate on achieving consistency with everything i’ve written here. Thank you Sean!
What if your life has only ever half worked? I used to work a job that I hated, but I was making a lot more money and had more resources. Now I'm doing something that is spiritually and creatively rewarding, but I'm living paycheck to paycheck with no end in the near future. I've also lost a lot of friends and family to get to where I'm at. So should I give up what I'm good at to help pay bills, or stick with what's keeping me starving. I haven't really changed any rituals I do day to day except my occupation. Love the site, hope I can get help. Thanks
My life works when I:
Wake up in the morning 5:00AM, shower, pray read a good book, exercise, shower again, have a healthy meal... and go to work focused motivated and ready to make a difference and make things better.
Further it gets better when I work on my PATIENCE to stick to what works and what doesn’t work, and when I meet my friends regularly and talk about it and take tons of ACTION on a daily basis towards it.
Further, it gets the most when I strengthen all of the above points and make them part of my hardcore beliefs which does not change no matter what.
My life works when I keep my eyes on my goal just like your flashlight analogy in your book. The example I usually used was driving a car. Ever noticed how if you look at something on the side of the road and then look back to the path your car is taking, the car has veered off in the same direction you were just looking? My adventurous skiing friends and I have a saying, "See the mogul, hit the mogul." If you want the smooth ride, you have to look for it and keep looking at it. Focus on what could go wrong and you will surely be right.
hi Sean,
I have a nerve problem since my first pregnancies and have a serious communication problem with my husband that ruin our family because there is a third parties at our family. With my broken heart have to living away from my first child and had to dealt with a husband that doesn't want his 2'nd child and giving me a negative energy that i am not a good wife's, being lazy etc, which those are not true, i keep stay positive for both my children, and your positive energy inspire me, thank you for sharing with me your story are awesome.
My life works when I wake up every morning eating breakfast, helping out other people, giving advice, being a ruler instead of being rule, replicating my goals verbally, being self-motivated, and just staying the course for my success.
"Being a ruler!" - I love this, good call.
Be well,
Sean
Dear Sean, Great Advice. Picking up every genuine moments leads to create more genuine moments to keep the momentum of life every day. Live in positivity and live on positive surroundings. Really great ideas from the Genius. Thank you.
Awww shucks, thanks!

Dear Sean, My life has been working since I know. I have been doing what I wanted to do with my life and I really worked very hard. Since my childhood,I worked very hard to reach where I wanted to reach.I'm not the person who believes in quick fix type too.My life worked when I took responsibility to whatever is given for me.My life work when I help others who needs my help. How many people needs my help and I've given Hope to many people. My Aim was so high without thinking of falling,my dream was so big without thinking it's outcome, and when cannot continue to do, that's what I feel my life is not working any more.
Thank you Sean, you have been Inspiring me, giving me so much courage and teaching me more of life to love life. You are an amazing human with pure heart full of love. I thank God for you in my life.I feel like I've found something very important in my life which I though I've lost. Thank you and God bless you and keep you smiling.
I am so glad that the message is having a powerful impact on you. I'm merely a messenger and all I'm doing is channeling a message - you hold the same power too.
Be well and live it to the max,
Sean
Great video, I really had to think about this one and there is one more thing that i think is very very important......... While praying or meditating or relaxing i visualize my life working, my goals happening, my dreams coming to life, and most importantly my life being happy and productive. Thank you for reminding me of this because when little things go wrong or happen i forget to do the positive things and the next thing you know negative thing pile up and stick to us like a magnet. Then we forget to do the positive things life seems overwhelming..........Again thanks for the reminder happiness starts from within and we are what we create.
Darwin Cole, Truth or Consequenses, New Mexico
I so am with you on the visualizing aspect. It's often overlooked and seen as "woo woo", however it has an incredible power over the psyche, and quite possibly the Universe around us.
Keep doing what works!
Sean
Thanks for your great video. I think my life works when i share my time with my friends and family.
Good call.
- Sean
What do you do for a frame of reference when there was never a time in a person's life "when life worked"?
The mind can't tell the difference between memory and imagination, sooooo make it up.
Peace,
Sean
Your videos help a lot keep on the good work!!!
MLW: great topic Sean. My life works when I'm organised, the house is clean, I'm eating healthy foods and yes, drinking water, when I'm involved in a project, when I'm getting up early, when I'm working out, when I'm organising a dinner party and when I'm helping others to be the best they can be. Thanks for this reminder, it was a great topic. xx
You gotta love dinner parties, right?
hehe
Peace,
Sean
the most important 2 are meditation and exercise for me...
Yup, those two powerful elements!
Peace,
Sean
b7WTYW That's a mold-beraekr. Great thinking!
What an awakening! Things seem great when I can hear from the love of my life, complicated, and being with my best girlfriend. Unfortunately, they are both 3,000 miles away. No wonder things have been so bad. And I don't know how to remedy it. Just want to tell you that I think you are terrific! Can't wait for the next video.
There's always Skype...it's been a Godsend for me.
Peace,
Sean
wow great video.. like always
My life works great when i jog every morning, Eating healthy food, and rewriting my goals every morning.
There's something to rewriting goals that plants them deeper in our mind and roots them into reality.
Peace!
Sean
SEAN
Good to constantly remind yourself about being at your best. I constantly strive to be healthy, relaxed and rested.
Here is my list.
1. SLEEP When I am able to go to sleep and get up at the same time everyday I am at my best. This is difficult to do but I have had periods in my life when I have been able to do this so I know how well it works. I need between six and eight hours of sleep put night, seven is ideal.
2. DIET When I eat at regular times this also contributes to my well being. By being careful to eat the right amount of calories; with a well balanced diet of proteins, fats and carbohyrates I ensure I feel good all day with lots of stamina and energy. I drink plenty of water all day long.
3. EXERCISE now that I am older I have cut my exercise down. I was a professional athlete and used to train and play extremely hard. I feel a lot better exercising mildly now since I'm 62 and have arthritis in my right hip. I shoot free throws four days a week, stretch, swim, do lots of sit ups, pull ups and push ups and do a light weight work out several days a week.
4. I need to stay organized and schedule my work so that I never have to rush. I can do that now that I'm older because I live on a strict budget, which doesn't require a lot of income. It great to be semi retired.
5. BEING POSITIVE. I TRY TO MONITOR MYSELF TO BE POSITIVE IN MY THOUGHTS AND DEEDS ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.
Thanks for these weekly blogs and reminders to be at my best. It's nice to know I have you rooting for me and in my corner.
jim
Jim...I love your list...I can so picture them all.
Just stick to it and your life will work with ease.
Peace,
Sean
My life works when I get up and weigh myself on the scale and it reads less than 155# ! I feel great full of energy & fire ! When it reads above that, I usually have a bad day and feel like carrying bricks on my back.
You want to disconnect your sense of happiness with your weight. If you want to be healthy that's one thing. No one feels amazing when they connect their happiness to a fluctuating element, such as weight.
Give me a list that makes you happy that you can stick to.
Big Hug!
Sean
Thank you for you videos. I am on the awarness path & sometimes don't want to face the responsibility of what next?
Responsibility is one tough pill to swallow, however it will set you free.
Peace,
Sean
Great video Sean.
Here's my list:
Wealth - making money, reading books
Health - staying fit, showering, shaving
Relationships - my family
Spiritual - yoga, meditation
If I get all of that in check, I am good to go! Oh and keeping a journal is a must...
I love journaling, it's like having a free therapist.
Peace,
Sean
Hey Sean
I just want to say thank you, your videos are really helping me out. I’m going to some very, very hard times for the past years; I have no words even to describe the suffering that I’m going through, somehow I feel that it’s always going to be like this, you know what I wish the most ?to be happy, simply. Is it possible? I wish I knew it is.
Thanks for the help, you always make me laugh.
Kind regards from the bottom of the well.
Helllo Ana, I discovered that it depends on how you react to things.
I reacted differently at different times, but I realized that if I don't get caught in what is happening, I manage to live through it and the next day is always somewhat better.
Somehow, whatever happenes has a reason, and it usually originates in me because I chose how to react.
I can't control the circumstances (not yet anyways), but I can change my reaction to them, and that way - eventually change them.
So no matter what is happening, you are alive and can always choose how to react. Always. You are the master of your happiness.
Just look from above and you will see.
Sending you a hug.
Focus on where you want to go, not where you are my friend. Have you checked out my new book? It's got tons of tips on how to get through difficult times.

My love, support, and energy is with you Ana.
Be well,
Sean
My life works when I stay in a positive mode and by being happy.
Some days things don't go as planned but I try to see the bright side or a lesson to be learned in very situation. By doing that I forget about the darker side much easier. After a couple of days I do realise that the outcome is always positive against all odds.
Thank you Sean
Yes, but what are the little steps you need to take in order to stay positive and happy? Re-watch the video and let me know what would be on your list.
Peace,
Sean
My life works when I stop procrastinating and force myself to start SOMETHING. It can be anything from organizing my closet to making a dreaded phone call to building a website. Moving past procrastination is the hardest step in the process, but the once I get going, my mind begins to fill with new ideas, my body feels re-energized, and heart swells with excitement, in no time. If you spend too much time thinking and planning a thing, you'll never get it done.
My life works when I'm patient with myself and accept I wont get EVERYTHING right the first time; I'll have another go at it and get it just right soon enough. There is no real need to get down on yourself when nothing is truly lost; you'll learn a few useful lessons along the way to your immanent and eventual success.
My life works better when I put my happiness before the need to please others for the sake of feeling accepted and stop caring so much about their opinion. Nothing amazing ever came to exhist because it won popular opinion.
Finally, my life works better when I feel it has purpose. And if it doesn't feel like you know what it is yet, its the search to find it (more often the not, its the things you get the most joy out of doing)
Find purpose, the means will follow.
We all procrastinate...to varying degrees.
Stick to your purpose!
Sean
Hello Sean,
Thanks for reminding me when I took charge of my life. I wish I was getting up at 4-5am in the morning. I used to get up at that time. Now, I got to sleep around that time or later. I try to do the things you do. I miss exercising or walking in the mornings but I do pilates while the above harasser sprays down at me.
I have taken on a project that is way over my head. I am stuck!!I have to complete this because my life will not be at peace. This is for myself, friends, acquaintences and the future generation. I do not know why this came in my life's pathway but other things came at the same time.
Asking for help gets me in trouble, yet doing it by myself is not good enough. I have one ace in the hole but it is not directly, this is so this project will come to an end. The chemicals disables me. Both mentally and physically. I could leave and go on an island far removed from here, then I would be bored to death.
I have just crocheted three hats and a scarf plus two others half way done. I must take a shower as soon as I get up. It is tough especially when I do not know what chemicals will be sprayed at me. I am organizing but slowly because of the chemicals.
I need to pull this project of the ground!! I want to win!! Many lives depend on this plus mine. Yesterday, I felt depressed but I got a letter thanking me for braving it in so many words. I felt better, I felt that I was not successful in this endeavor, the praise cannot go undone, it means I have to finish theis project. Win or lose. I say it with a squint! I do not want to lose. I am afraid my skills in persuasion are poor.
Thanks for reminding me that I can pull it off, since someone rescued me from I would say "HELL". I will let you know if this project left the ground.
Thanks again.
Polly
Polly get back on your old sleep schedule and see what happens, I'm guessing you'll get your power back...BIG TIME!
Good luck with your "project."
Be well,
Sean
Hi Sean ,my life always worked ,because i always new what i wanted ,combined with meditation yoga ,sport and music ,everything came easy ,but since i got married and my mother in law is all the time on my back ,everything stopped working ,i lost most of my friends ,i lost a lot of money ,i would like to find a way out without loosing my family ,i must be doing something wrong ?
Thanks Sean for sharing
Well it's not a matter of wrong, probably a matter of ineffective. I have no clue how to give you advice know such few details. All I can tell you in general is, go back to what worked when your life was in flow. What were you doing back then, that you haven't been doing lately.
May the "river of life" flow in your direction.
Be well,
Sean
Thank you for the question Sean!
Hmmmmmmm, that is an interesting one. When I observed my life, I am thinking that it always worked. I wasn't pleased with it most of the time, but it worked, or else I would be dead or in a mental hospital now.
I felt better when I was able to have time for myself, and sing and dance. Also, when I could read and write regularly.
In essence, when the things I've done for the day were done consciously - then I feel like I lived better that day. When I took the responsibillity to be my best for the day.
Oh, and I need plenty of fresh air and water, and no cigarette smoking please:)
Clean air...ahhhhhh so critical.
Go back to scheduling more "you time" in your life.
Be well,
Sean
My life always works better when I work on something I love doing, when I find my bliss and then everything else just falls into place. I find that place when I am writing.
Also, exercising and eating healthily too! Oh and daily vitamins!
That's sounds like a winning formula to me.
Peace,
Sean
Sean, my life worked when I had a job. I had a place to rePort to, a boss, and the time/day. Doing an MLM is much harder to schedule than a regular job. I try to go for my walks, go online, breakfast, laundry, then go out to looking for prospect. I am also a diabetic; that I have to set my time to eat in between. To eat a meal and a snack to space them out evenly. During my job, I had to snack in between before and after meals. The thing I really do not like is going online, cause time just flies when your not keeping track of time. Anyway, here are the things I have problems with. I kow that I have to sit down and keep schedule. Have a good day
Whoa! First I came up with a long list, then I narrowed it down to 5 you mentioned (Drinking Water, Working out every morning, Eating healthy foods, Getting 8 hrs of sleep and Waking up Early) plus two more of my own, these 7 kickstarts my WLW machine:
1) My life works better when I share with others. My time, an advise, a "good morning" with a slight smile while greeting, just Listening to someone...anything goes!
2) My life works better when I´m driven, when I wake up every morning with a clear purpose for the day I´m facing, jumping out of bed and thinking during a morning jog or at the shower what Im gonna do and how I´m going to do it during my day helps me tap and stay in the zone...a lot!
As always, thanks for sharing Sean!
